SUCCESSION is a fucking *beast*. The One Percent as deliciously, beautifully human as only fiction can make them, impressive only for the art animating them. A true successor to THE SOPRANOS for mining bitter hilarity and brutal pathos from the lives of the powerfully evil. I cannot exaggerate how much of a surprise it was to me that I absolutely loved this show, to the extent that it pained me to finish the first season. This is mythology in a suit–bickering, hateful gods made flesh so that they may stab each other for the spectacle.
