Got my copy of Gardner Dozois’ final YEAR’S BEST SCIENCE FICTION collection. It’s the last book he edited for his 35-year series (as old as I am) before his death. He picked my stories ‘The Worldless’ (Lightspeed Magazine) and ‘The Moon is Not a Battlefield’ (Jonathan Strahan’s Infinity Wars) to be in this one. I’m honoured I get to be in it, alongside such an excellent line-up of writers. Gardner was the first editor to ever pick my work for a Year’s Best, back in ’12 when he placed my story ‘Weep For Day’ (Asimov’s) for that year’s collection. I’ll always be grateful to him for that. Here’s to you, Gardner, you are greatly missed.

The Year’s Best Science Fiction: 35th Annual Collection is out now, and available to order here (and here in India).
