I just finished reading Nisi Shawl’s NEW SUNS (out now from Rebellion Publishing/Solaris), and I’m so honoured to be in the company of such an amazing group of writers. Each story has a kernel of hard truth, around which blossoms all manner of gorgeous unreality. Fantastic stuff. Includes new stories by Tobias Buckell, Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Rebecca Roanhorse, Anil Menon, Andrea Hairston, Darcie LB, Jaymee Goh, Chinelo Onwualu, and many more, as well as a foreword by none other than LeVar Burton.
My story in it, ‘The Shadow We Cast Through Time’, is about exoplanetary demons and folklore, and mortality and love in the time of collapsing stargates.
You can get NEW SUNS here.
And here in India (sadly only as an expensive import, or on Kindle).
As a little special feature, here’s the charcoal drawing I did that was the seed of my story in NEW SUNS:
